Remember, Wednesday 10/16 is a regular school day...and you will take the PSAT if in 11th grade or the SAT if in 12th grade
(goes by credits earned.)
My understanding is the PSAT you $17 while the SAT costs $50-65. The District is paying these fees for EVERYONE. This is NOT a "blow off school day." This is an opportunity to take these exams for FREE.
You are required to bring pencils & a calculator to the exam. Very few pencils will be available and no calculators will be provided for the PSAT (they WILL give you a calculator to use if you are a 12th grader taking the SAT.) If you do not bring a calculator to the PSAT, you will not have one for the math portion of the exam.
This is a GREAT opportunity to see where your weakness is - if you have any - & start to work toward a higher score for the SAT.
You will be released after the exam is over and "regular buses" will take you home. Be on the lookout for a letter sent home by Mr. Callan & those annoying "robo calls" to remind you of what to do. Pay attention to you 1st & 2nd period teachers Thursday as they will have your room assignments for the exam.
