So...here's what I learned at my Conference today:
1. Those 4 questions I always give you on the handouts? You need to do a better job of answering them. They are 100% on point with the Regents.
2. Reliability is staying on your exam. There will be no changes made to your test. Apparently, it has already been written (which is very different form Global last year.)
3. The SEQs do NOT get intros or conclusions. 3 BODY paragraphs are required.
4. What you need to do for the reliability question was clarified. It isn't great, but it isn't a disaster either.
5. The US exam is meant to be more challenging than the Global exam because you are a year older, a year closer to gradation, and a l a grade level above last year.
6. We'll have a better ides of what you need in your essay & SEQs to pass those parts in December/January when they release he scoring rubric.
7. CONTENT IS THE KEY TO THIS EXAM. Skills are 2nd. If you don't know your content, you cannot pass his exam. The skills require you to know content.
8. You have to make connections between content based on themes & content...and the themes are always involving he Constitution or Govt (Civics.)
See you tomorrow...
