UPDATE-------------Some scores are in

ALL SCORES ARE NOW IN 5:30 pm Monday
----------------------------------------------------

Some Regents scores have started coming back from the state.  About 25% are still "missing."  You can call Guidance starting tomorrow about them.  I will not have an opportunity to email you grades, or even answer emails.

Remember, a passing regents score does not mean you passed the course.

Congrats to all who passed, and a special congrats to those who hit 85+.  NYS considers that to be Mastery Level.  Excellent job!

Regents Exam & Course Final Grades

The US History Regents Exam has been graded.  I believe it was being sent to the State for scores Friday afternoon.  It is unlikely we'll have results back on Monday but maybe on Tuesday.  Contact your GUIDANCE COUNSELOR to see if scores are n.  We are grading the Global Exam starting Monday and I will not be near a computer to answer emails, plus I get the grades after your Counselor does (since they go directly into Eschool.)

Final course grades will not be available until sometime Wednesday afternoon, but the end of the school day.

4th MP grades are finalized in Thinkwave.  Any extra points you may have earned fro review will not be reflected in Thinkwave but will be o your 4th MO average in Eschool.

Last Reminders

This. Is. It.

  • Get a good night's sleep tonight - tired people fail exams!
  • Eat breakfast before you get here - hungry people fail exams!
  • Go to the bathroom before entering the gym - you must wait at least 1 hour before you can get up, & then you will lose all that time standing on line.

As a reminder, you MUST have:
  • Multiple IDENTICAL standard blue or black pens - ball point ink, NOT GEL PENS!
  • Your current school ID to enter the building

As a reminder, you CANNOT have:
  • Electronics of ANY kind
  • Earbuds of ANY kind
  • Review books, notes, etc.
  • Anything other than a small pocketbook.  Backpacks, book bags, and anything else bigger than the size of a sheet of paper folded in half will not be permitted & must be checked with security when you enter the building
  • Food.  Eat before you come to the exam.  It's a Regents, not Starbucks or the mall food court.  You MAY have an unopened, clear bottle of water, but you may NOT have your own water bottle.

Other things to remember:
  • ALL BAGS WILL BE SEARCHED.
  • Base your clothing choices on the weather & school dress code.  You are there for 3 hours in one spot - do you really want the back of your thighs sticking to the seat for that long?
  • It is supposed to rain in the morning - be at your bus stop early so you don't miss the bus
  • Regular bus stop at your regular pick up time tomorrow
  • Know your Row & seat number OR room number, otherwise you're going on a hunt for it yourself.
  • If you are late for the exam, you lose that time
  • The exam is 3 hours long.  You will be there for the full 3 hours.  No one will be released early, and if you choose to walk out your exam will be invalidated.
  •  You either prepped yourself all year or you are gong to have a difficult struggle tomorrow.  There is no time to cry, zone out, or nap.  Either be confident in the work & review you have done or learn from the error of your ways for next year, which ever may apply to you.

6/14 & 6/17 HW Exemptions & Thinkwave

Any HW grades that need to be adjusted due to 6/14 or 6/17 reviews, if you qualify, will be done after the 6/17 review.  Regular HW grades will go in until then.

Again, if you qualify for the exemption(s), it will be adjusted in your Thinkwave after the final regents Review on Monday.

1.  Yes, you have a final exam.  See the separate post with all the periods, dates, & times to see when yours is.

2.  No, there are no exemptions since this is not a half-year elective.

3.  You are required to have with you:
  • Standard blue or black pens (no gel pens or erasable ink)

  • US History Review Book
  • Paper (about 10 sheets should do)
To not have any if these items is to be unprepared for your final exam & you will receive a score of 0.  If you are late, you will receive a score of 0 for your final exam.

LAST REVIEW: June 17th, Different from the Others, Read for Details

By request, I have re-added the June 17th Regents Review.

This is the afternoon before your exam, and I highly suggest you attend.  However, it has been scaled down to a classroom so I can only accept 30 students.  This will be on a first come, first served basis.  It will be held in 1823 from 2:05-5:30 pm.  There are 5:30 buses to take you home.

If you are in 4th or 5th period, you may want to consider stopping by 1823 when the buses drop you off tomorrow (6/10) to sign up so you don't get shut out.  The list will be taped up on the board even if I've already left.  Do not show up after 1st period has started as Mr. Drum teaches in there that period (& it's unacceptable to interrupt another teacher's class.)

You are required to have with you:

  • Your US History review book (we will be using the exams in the back of the book)
  • Pens
  • Highlighter

If you do not have these items you cannot stay for the review.  I told you not to do anything in the back of the book as we would be needing those exams...if you did them anyway, you cannot attend this review.

Our focus will be on Part I skills (we will go a page & go over it, do another page & go over it, & repeat.)  Of time, we will also review Thematic & DBQ Essay outlines.

If you attend this review (on time, prepared), I will exempt you from the HW practice exam that closes this day & a score of 100 will be entered for you.  If you sign up & then cancel or don't show up, your score will revert to a 0 since you took a spot away from someone else who could have attended.  Let me be clear: if you sign up and either cancel your spot after 6/13 or don't show up on 6/17, even if you do the HW exam due 6/17, you will receive a score of 0 for causing someone else to be shut out of a spot you did not intend to use.

6/14 Review Sign Up is Open until Wednesday

This is your 2nd-to-last review before your Regents Exam.

You are out of time to delay.

If you are not always getting 40 or more out of 50 on IN CLASS PRACTICE PART I's, you are in danger of failing the exam and should be at this review.

If you are getting 40's, I suggest coming anyway just to keep your skills & mind sharp.

Sign up is until Wednesday.

Remember, Friday & Monday are Final Exam days, so I may not see you on that day to remind you.  We still meet in the Senior Cafe right after the last final exam period eds at the end of the day.  I have checked with Admin & Transportation, and the 5:30 buses are still running so there are no issues with you getting home.

Not Doing HW? A Friendly Reminder...

Please be mindful that 4th MP averages will not be finalized until after your last assignment on 6/17 has closed.  Every exam in Castle Learning counts as both an exam in your average AND Regents Review.  Not doing them is hurting your chances of passing the MP (so, passing the course) as well as jeopardize a passing Regents score.  Don't be foolish with just a few days to go - make a serious, last-ditch effort toward your grades!

There will be no extension.

There are only 2 reviews remaining until your Regents Exam
