Updates on Grades

I was at school until almost 8 pm Friday grading & entering into Thinkwave.  Most, but not all, of your sub work & HW from last week has been graded & entered.  If it was not entered, it isn't graded yet.  If there is a zero, it was graded but your work (or work with our name on it) was not turned in.

You Ch 15 & 16 Exams are in Thinkwave since they closed yesterday.

The Palmer Raid video link has been updated & fixed.

None of your Participation grades for the last 2 weeks have been entered, which also means none of your HWQ grades based on that have been entered.  I hope to have all of your outstanding grades entered by next weekend.

Chapter 18 Online Exam Info

Your Chapter 18 Exam goes live on Tuesday, 4/9.  It will close on Monday, 4/15 at 4 pm.  It is posted in Castle Learning.

Your Chapter 18 video packet(s) is due at the start of class on Monday, 4/15.  It will not be accepted late since you weeks to turn it in.  If you procrastinated despite weeks of warnings of getting it done & then are absent on 4/15, that's the consequence of your actions.

1.  There is no make up exam.  You do it online by the time is closes or you miss the exam & will receive a grade of 0.
2.  You can do the exam at school on your free period OR after school when the library is open.  If you need a pass, please bring your agenda book.
3.  "First try only" counts, no partial credit for 2nd choices...because the Regents has & will never work that way.
4.  Any unfinished portion of the exam once it is locked will be like not finishing am exam in class - anything left unanswered will be marked wrong.

5.  Chronic & habitual cutters will receive no credit for online exams.  You must be in class regularly to receive credit.  You will NOT be allowed to earn grades while cutting, since any exam given in class you'd also likely cut (based on your current behavior.)

Videos are HW until further notice

Until further notice, your video worksheets for each chapter are to be done outside of class.  The packets will be due the same day as your exam OR deadline date of your Castle Learning Exam, whichever is used.  It will be posted with the exam dates/deadlines if online.

CH 15/16 Exam with Sub

The exam given to you by the sub on 3/18 was on Chapters 15 & 16.  This was originally schedules for February & the content was completed before the Winter Break.  You were allowed to use your notes, which were now due months ago.  There is no reason you would be unable to finish the exam.

As I said in class today, I do not anticipate getting through all the sub work this week.  While I will be counting this assignment as classwork, I will be grading it before you get it back, thanks to Mr. Drum's handy scantron.

As I get to it, I will grade it, enter it in Thinkwave, & then you'll get it back.

This exam DOES NOT REPLACE your exam grade for Chapters 15 or 16.  As discussed, that exam will be in Castle Learning at a date to be determined soon.

Updates

I just can't seem to catch a health break this year...

I had fevers on & off Sunday & yesterday, and this morning had a major asthma attack that landed me in the ER for a while.  I will not be back tomorrow.  I may be back Thursday, I will definitely be back Friday.

You need to keep up on the sub work.  Also, you need to keep up on the content in general. I may post some sub work for you here...int he way f vocab lists, etc.   IF i do that, Mr. Drum & Mr. Salanitri will know & will leave a note that you can use your phones to see the post & look up words (though there are books in 1825...and they MUST GO BACK NEATLY ON THE SHELF IF YOU USE THEM.  The packets they have been going you were going to be given out as HW, so be sure you have done them because I will have no sympathy when I get back.  Anything you have not turned in, be prepared with it as of Thursday.  I won;t take it late...

Yes, that means if you were/are absent you are STILL required to do the work.  Extra packets are int he Absent Bin in 1825.

Hope to see you Thursday.

I can't get the Temperance Movement link to copy for some reason, so please put a big "X" over those questions in your packet.  Failure to do this may lead to a loss of credit for your overall packet score

Updates for 3/5

I was pulled for a Jury but the parties settled...so I'll be back tomorrow.  Here is how I plan on the week going at this time:

1.  Plowing through information quickly & efficiently.  This means you will need your Ch 17, 18, & 19 notes for sure.  We may or may not do videos in class, but you are responsible for them either way.  I will post them as we do each chapter.

2.  Your HWQs from last Monday - & the rest of the week - will be sometime at the end of this week or next Monday.  Be prepared with all of that work starting Thursday (but since it should already be done, this shoudl not be an issue.)

3.  I will start to schedule Vocab Quizzes, etc. for next week, but will wait until the middle of this week to see how far we get.

4.  Your next few Quizzes (not vocab) & Exams may be done on Castle Learning just to free up class periods.  Please be mindful of the following:

  • You need to know your CL username & password
  • All will have deadlines but you will have several days the the exams, etc. will be open
  • All will be timed, so once you start it you must finish.  You will NOT have time to look up answers, so you will need to study just like any other exam
  • If you do not do the example etc. by the deadline, you will receive a zero for it just like not taking it or making it up in class.

We start with the end of Chapter 16 tomorrow & move directly into Chapter 17.  Be prepared!  See you then!
