Due Friday, 3/30: Chapter 18 Online Exam

Your Chapter 18 Castle Learning test closes at 7 pm on Friday, 3/30.  This gives you 4 days on school computers & a day at home (or 3 days, if you can't this weekend, but see my advice below.)  And yes, I know we're off on the due date, but that's the beauty of online exams.

First try only counts.  Test is timed, so be sure you have 71 minutes to spend taking the test before you open it.  No make-ups since it is online.  If you don't finish (run out of time, deadline locks it, etc.), anything unanswered is wrong, just like if you left it blank in class.  If you have a Resource period I am aware of, your test is timed but time was extended based on your mods.  Remember, once you open the test, time starts & cannot be "paused."  If you are new to the class (this week) - you are still taking the test to show me your current level of knowledge from your last school.  Quizlet for this exam was opened last week.

While the test is open  as of this post, I suggest you wait until:
1. You have finished the Chapter 17 Exam
2. Study before opening the exam.
3. We finish most of Chapter 18 (which I think we'll do Monday, with us actually finishing the chapter Tuesday sometime.

Thinkwave & Progress Reports

The average in Thinkwave today is what was used to compete your progress reports this afternoon.  All work collected until yesterday was input today.  There is no more sub work, assessments from resource, or make-ups anywhere in either classroom unless they are hiding under a stack of another teacher's work (and I checked there, too.)

This is March.  In 2 weeks we'll be going on Spring Break & when we come back it's almost the middle of April.  If you are one of the student who continues to not do your job as a student & fails as a result...time to make some decision & face some facts.  The problem will not go away, so ignoring it more than you have won't help.  It hasn't made you magically pass yet, and it won't make you pass moving forward.  I have been telling you this for 7 months.

Those of you doing your job...keep it up!  The end is in sight!  Work hard, end with strong grades, & stay focused on passing the Regents Exam!

Please note:  only those students who are in class, prepared with work given to them required supplies, and daily HW will be invited to my after school Regents Review.  Department Review is available for all others.  My review is private & unpaid.  I don't allow lazy, kids who did nothing all year, or behavior problems into my review.  Something else to keep in mind as you make some decisions about the remainder of the year (f you are in that category.)

DUE 3/16 & 3/18: Chapter 16 Test, Quiz, & Worksheets

1. Chapter 16 Castle Learning test closes at 7 pm on 3/18.  As stated in class, it will open on 3/13 after 7 pm.

2.  Chapter 16 Video Worksheets are due at the start of class on Friday, 3/16.

3.  Chapter 16 Vocab words due & quiz is today.  Same rules & criteria apply as always.  Make-up dates for legal absences are Mon & Tues, 3/19 & 3/20, 6:45-7:15 am.  No make-up will be given after 7:15 am.  If you know you missed the quiz, be to school by 7 am to do the makeup.  Failure to make up or show up on time will result in a grade of 0 for this assignment.

UPDATES

A few updates.

I had a serious asthma attack that landed me in a rescue unit for lots of hours, followed by pneumonia for 2 weeks,  diagnosed the first day of break.  Unfortunately, just when things got a little better for me, this weekend Mr. Ramo had a significant, serious, & unexpected health issue that required immediate medical attention that caused me to be out again today.  I will be in tomorrow.  Because these issues are still ongoing, I am posting a few updates for you (I have not been near a laptop to post anything, I certainly hope when I get in tomorrow I am not faced with notes about poor behavior or general insubordination to your subs.)

1. All missed exams/quizzes that were supposed to be given when I was out will be rescheduled for next week (or later.)
2. Make-ups from before break (the last exam you took) will be Friday & Monday (3/9 & 3/12.) If you were legally out that last Friday, be prepared for one of those 2 days.
3.  Hold all Vocab until new quiz dates are posted.  The vocab turned in to the subs this week will be returned before your quizzes & after I record your grade for work that day.
4.  If you were LEGALLY out any day since I've been out, you will need to provide written proof.  Anyone that did not turn in sub work for any day will be issued a classwork grade of 0 for that day.  As always, the exception is if you are legally absent from school.  Please provide this by Friday, 3/9 as I will be doing progress reports over the weekend.
5.  All HWQs from the day we returned from break (& any other day I've been out) will be given next week sometime.  If you failed to do your work, get it done.
6.  More HW will be posted soon.
7.  There will be no extra help this week before school.
8.  We will be on warp speed to get through material.  This means YOU will have to pick up the slack (if you have been slacking) - I will hit highlights & videos with you in class, you will be responsible for reading through your notes & work from class on your own.  If you have questions or need help, I will be available before school again starting next Monday (3/12.)
9.  All Chapter Video Worksheets will be collected at a later date, depending on how much we finish this week.  Stay tuned for dates, they may not be the same as exams since chapters will be combined for tests at this point.
10.  Be sure you know your username & password for Castle Learning.  I may need to give you exams electronically through that program while we play catch-up.

If you don't do YOUR job as a student, & we need to slow down because of that lack of effort, there is a significant chance that you will have NO Regents Review as we will run out of time.  We have six days that I was out to make up for (and maybe now a snow day this week??)...so we ALL (me included) have to have a plan (that's my job) & execute it quickly & efficiently (that's also your job.)  We can do it, but only if YOU do your part, too.

See you tomorrow.
